[ARCHIVED] Trowbridge Redevelopment Meeting

Brendan Boyle from Red Cedar said:

The meeting with the folks who are interested in developing the Trowbridge Plaza property is less than a week away. This is a very important meeting for everyone in the Red Cedar Neighborhood because what happens in the development will have impacts on the place where you live or do business.

In previous development attempts and planning meetings the community has expressed wishes that there be better traffic control and safety for drivers and pedestrians; that any residential and service facilities reflect the needs and makeup of the adjacent community i.e. seniors, professionals, students, married with children, transient and long term residents (the population mix found at Arbor Forest for example); and that the area remain a walkable neighborhood with resources that make it unnecessary to drive somewhere for most of your basic needs. There were many more ideas.

It is important for all of us to come to this meeting to express what we want and what we don't want to see for our community and for a major entryway to the City and MSU. Development is better than watching the properties continue to decline, but if we want to see inevitable change produce positive results now is the time to come listen, offer opinion and ask questions.

Please share this post with neighbors and stakeholders who are not on Nextdoor Red Cedar. If you cannot attend the meeting, call one of your Red Cedar Community Association board members so they can represent your interests on July 17 at 7 p.m. at the Lutheran Church on Harrison.
