The Hawk Nest HOA Board would like to bring you up to date regarding Phase IV and V construction and the final paving of Phase III roads including Shearwater Lane.
On April 23, 2015 the Hawk Nest HOA Board met with Scott House, Director City of East Lansing DPW, his staff and Daryl Kesler, Chandler Properties, LLC, (Hawk Nest developer).
The DPW suggested and Chandler Properties agreed that heavy construction equipment/trucks will not use Shearwater Lane. A sign may be put up informing such equipment that Shearwater Lane is not to be used. For Phase IV (north of Phase III), trucks will use an east-west road to Coolidge Road. When the access road is inaccessible due to inclement weather, Parula will be used. For Phase V (south of Phase III) the Parula entrance at Coleman Road will be used.
Installation of Phase IV and V water lines were to begin Tuesday, April 28, 2015. After that, Phase IV and V road preparation will begin with curb installation and road sub-surface work. When finished, final paving of Shearwater, Phoebe, Gannet, Willet and Puffin, and initial paving of Phase IV and V roads will be done.
We understand that on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 the DPW staff discussed Phase III roads with the developer and/or his staff to determine which portions of the existing asphalt need to be replaced before the top coat is added. Also, a plan will be developed to complete this work. We will provide an update regarding this matter as soon as we have this information via hawknestHOA@gmail.com.
On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, 6:00p.m. at Hannah Community Center the HOA Board invites Hawk Nest residents to attend a meeting to discuss Phase IV and V construction and Phase III road final paving. After this community information meeting the Hawk Nest Board will hold its regular (open) meeting in the same room.
We welcome your questions and comments. Please e-mail the HOA Board at hawknestHOA@gmail.com.
Thank you,
