About the Park
Our neighborhood has a wonderful "pocket park" at the corner of Mt. Vernon and Moorland Drive. It features a sand-box play area and a swing set for the children, and 2 permanent benches for the adults. During the summer the city supplies picnic tables. (People often move them under the trees for shade, but then they get pine sap on them.)

Though only a few years old, and still developing, the park has served the neighborhood well as the site of association picnics, ice cream socials, and even 1 huge yard sale.

The park represents what can happen when 1 community member gets a great idea and neighbors and the city adds their support and resources.
